CHAPTER HISTORY
In June 2004, the UAP Bulacan Chapter aimed to establish a new chapter in Baliwag, Bulacan, and the Southern part of Bulacan. Unfortunately, these plans fell through due to a shortage of active members in those areas. However, this setback did not deter UAP Bulacan Chapter members from actively pursuing their initiatives with the UAP National goals and programs.
In 2005, the UAP Bulacan Chapter received recognition, being elevated to the UAP Hall of Fame for winning the Best Chapter Award for five consecutive years. In 2007, former chapter presidents and selected members came together to form the “Architects Service Cooperative” (ARKISC) with the primary objective of supporting its members in the practice of the architectural profession. From this cooperative, the idea of establishing a new UAP Chapter emerged, a practice endorsed by the National Office for enhanced management and coordination among members.
With the intention of guiding the growing number of members in the Mother Chapter and encouraging active participation, selected past presidents and members initiated the formation of the new chapter. This led to the commencement of the chapter formation in December 2015, and within a short period, the necessary number of members was attained. The name “DEL PILAR” was chosen, paying homage to the national heroes Gregorio and Marcelo, both hailing from Bulacan. The name also honors the past presidents and leaders of the Bulacan Chapter who played a pivotal role in establishing the new chapter, aaptly referred to as “the pillars” for their hard work, bravery, and contributions that brought honor to their mother chapter.
Following the completion of the required documents for the chapter formation, Regional District A2a Director Ar. Antonio B. Del Rosario Jr, UAP, FY 2015-2016, UAP FY 2015-2016, endorsed the papers to the UAP Commission on Internal Affairs on March 18, 2016.
Ultimately, the approval from the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National Office, UAP DEL PILAR-BULACAN CHAPTER was chartered on June 25, 2016, as UAP Chapter No. 00141 of the United Architects of the Philippines. This accomplishment occurred under the leadership, of UAP National President Ar. Maria Benita Ochoa-Regala, FUAP, ASEAN Architect, and UAP Secretary General Ar. Nina Baylon-Arce, FUAP, ASEAN, APEC Ar.
